Welcome Our New Physiotherapist

Katie Hayes is a chartered physiotherapist that joined the team at Elmwood medical centre and physiotherapy clinic in 2016. She graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Physiotherapy Honours degree from University College Dublin.
Katie has attained numerous and varied experiences while completing her training. These include spending time across medical and surgical wards in large teaching hospitals in Dublin and Cork. She has worked in outpatient departments with orthopaedic patients especially in the area of rehabilitation after surgery.
Katie has post-graduate training in the delivery of STOTT Pilates and Yoga as medicine for Pregnancy and Postpartum. She has particular interest in establishing effective and safe exercise routines for expectant and new mums.
In addition, she has a particular interest in assisting optimum mobility and physical health for the older person. She continues to work in this area in several centres in the Cork region.
A past player of Nemo Rangers Ladies Football, Katie has been physiotherapist to UCD camogie team during her time in Dublin. While with Sunday’s Well Swimming Club, she has won prizes at national and regional competitions and is a member of Cork Master’s SC.
